I was going through past prayer journals and it just reminded me how important it is to write down my prayers. Lately, I have been sloppy in writing my prayers out and I need to improve.
When I was reading my old journals, my heart immediately when into a posture of praise and thanksgiving. I don’t know about you but I often become short sighted with the heaviness of the here and now. And I simply forget just many times the Lord has come through with just the most amazing things. By the way, the most impacting, the most awe and wonder moments were almost always not what I prayed for. In other words, I prayed for something I thought was big and God just blew so far past anything I could ask for or even comprehend. But that’s who God is…and He is doing it for you too.
Writing your prayers down:
- Puts you on your knees in thankfulness
- Reminds you of all the times God comes through
- Refreshes your awe and wonderment in the Lord
- Teaches you to pray Big
- Has you in a state of dependance
- Humbles you
- Re-enforces your submission to God
Start writing your prayers down today and in a year from now you can go back through them and be completely blown away by what the Lord has done in your life.
